Elite Academy of Security Training Ltd is delighted to be supporting "Bridging the Gap"; a scheme which has been put in place to deliver SIA licensed young people into the Security and Public Services Industry via the Further and Higher Education sectors.

This course is funded and provides thousands of new recruits the opportunity to be brought into the Security sector in time for the 2012 Olympic Games thanks to a unique partnership forged between the security industry, central Government and key players in the education and training sectors.

If you are between 17 & 18 you can join the Bridging the Gap project by completing the following course: Level 2 Award in Door Supervision                                                                                         This is recognised by the security industry which is working closely with the Further Education sector.

Working in partnership with the Further Education sector Elite Academy will be offering this course from October 2011 through to April 2012.  For information on how to book your place on the course please contact us at www.elite-trainingacademy.co.uk

All students who are aged 18 years or older and have successfully completed and qualified on the Door Supervisors and/or CCTV courses will be guaranteed an interview for paid security work at London 2012 Olympic & Paralympic Games. Those who have successfully qualified on one or more of these two courses may be offered interviews for paid roles at London 2012. All individuals working at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games must be 18+ by 1st July 2012.
Criminality checks will be undertaken as part of an accreditation process.

Please note that all students who hold the 'Level 2 Award in Understanding Stewarding at Spectator Events' will need to convert to the Level 2 Door Supervision qualification.

In essence, Bridging the Gap provides a formal qualification for 17.5 -18 years of age and will allowopportunity to assist in the security arrangements for London 2012.

The Bridging the Gap 'Door Supervision' qualification can be attached to a student's main programme of study (for example public uniformed services, travel and tourism, business studies or sports studies. In addition, students will be trained to Security Industry Authority (Sia) level standards. This will afford students with the qualification required to apply for an SIA license at the age of 18.

This course is ideal for those that wish to be involved within the Security Industry in the future and be part of the BtG legacy.

The project aims to enhance employment opportunities for participants through the introduction of a new industry approved 'fit for purpose' level 2 qualification, delivered by a network of specialist approved training providers and qualified teachers.

The project will also provide large numbers of learners via a structured development programme. They will have transferable skills and qualifications that will lead to more opportunities to work within industry, particularly the 2012 London Olympics and thereafter. The course can be delivered within a four day period and the student gain a level 2 award; this can be done on site at our own training premises in Norwich, alternatively it can be delivered on your own education site using your resources allowing the student to stay within their own comfort zone whilst being taught, maximum numbers per class are 20 and a minimum of 12.
